Hi, I'm Dan. This is where I will display my work.
Book Trailer Task Your task is to create an eye-catching Book Trailer that will promote your book to other students. Use images, video, animation, music and words to create your book trailer. Try to use copyright friendly sources. Your presentation should be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. GOAL : To recognise and interpret the main themes of a story by creating a short book trailer which promotes the book. Reflection What did you enjoy most about this task? Working with my partner Xavier because we were very co-operative and knew what we were doing. We also had the same sort of idea.
What was your biggest challenge? Replacing some of our pictures that were copyright because we wanted exact pictures that had to be copy right free. What skills did you learn during this task?
- More knowledge on using Movie Maker.
- How to make a book trailer.
- Basic identifying of copyright free pictures and music.
Speaking and Listening Goal: Today we had a speaking and listening activity. We had to orally answer a question about our book. From the activity I know I have to consistently keep my voice at a volume so everyone can hear it.
IMAGES TELL STORIES TOO
Learning Intention:To re-create a description of the setting and the character/s in a text as a Toondoo cartoon illustration.
TASK:
Select and read a suitable Fiction or Picture Story book.
Setting - Describe everything in as much detail as you can about the setting/background of the story (or one particular part of it) Describe colours, objects, what things are in it, atmosphere, season, indoors/outdoors, scenery etc.
Character/s - Now describe at least one of the characters – their appearance, size, age, what they like to do, personality, clothing, their role in the story etc.
Using http://www.toondoo.com/ re-create a Toondoo illustration which matches as closely as possible to your text description of the setting and character/s.
Book:Phar Lap
Setting: The barn floor was filled with hay. No light shone. All that stood there was a sick horse, vet and the very sad strapper of the horse. The vet checked the horse while the strapper held the sore and dying horse's head. On one of the walls there was a window through which you could see horses outside.
Character:Vet
The vet was an average sized man wearing overalls, boots and a long sleeve shirt. He had a sad face. Maybe his reaction from his stethoscope on the horse related to that.
